LSU advances to the Super Regionals after overpowering Oregon State 13-7

Alex Box Stadium rocked Monday afternoon as the LSU Tigers took on the Beavers of Oregon State in the Baton Rouge Regional Championship game. Oregon State played the Tigers close in the first game before losing; on Monday afternoon, the Tigers were just too much for Oregon State to overcome.

LSU would remain scoreless through three innings on Monday before the Oregon State levee broke, flooding Alex Box Stadium with an abundance of LSU Tiger runs.

During the 4th inning, LSU would plate four runs jumping ahead of Oregon State 4-0. In the bottom half of the 4th inning, Oregon State would respond with a two-run shot from Gavin Turley to left field to cut into the LSU lead at 4-2. LSU would answer the bell in the top half of the 5th inning with back-to-back solo shots from Hayden Travinski and Cade Beloso to make it 6-2 Tigers heading to the bottom half of the 5th inning. Oregon State would remain scoreless in the bottom half of the 5th inning, leaving the door open for LSU to add insurance runs in the top half of the 6th. LSU would open the top half of the 6th inning with a bang behind a massive solo shot to the deep left-center field from Dylan Crews to extend the Tigers’ lead to 7-2 over the Beavers. Oregon State would answer the challenge in the bottom half of the 6th inning with a two-run home run to the bleachers in right field by Brady Kasper to cut the LSU lead to 7-4.

From there, the LSU Tigers buried the Oregon State Beavers in the top half of the 7th with an incredible five-run inning to extend the lead to 12-4. Gavin Dugas would start the 7th-inning barrage of LSU runs with an explosive solo shot left-center field. His solo shot would spark the onslaught, further distancing Oregon State into the abyss of elimination of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. LSU would add another run to further the gap between the Tigers and Beavers at 13-4.

With the win over Oregon State, LSU advances to another Super Regional, where they will await the winner of the Lexington Regional Championship between the Kentucky Wildcats and Indiana Hoosiers.
