An early look at the 2024 Southeastern Conference Football schedules

All the excitement of Texas and Oklahoma joining the ranks of the Southeastern Conference in the summer of 2024 peaked with the announcement of the 2024 Southeastern Conference Football schedule on Wednesday night. In traditional Southeastern Conference fashion, the one-hour television show was a spectacle described by the slogan, ” It Just Means More.” Only in the Southeastern Conference would you find an hour-long show in the middle of June discussing the 2024 schedule.

A few pretenses announced by the conference before schedule release, all existing Southeastern Conference members will be playing one or the other between Oklahoma and Texas in 2024, no more divisions in 2024, and traditional rivalries were a priority in the decision-making for the 2024 eight-game Southeastern Conference schedule.

Notable traditional Southeastern Conference games that remained intact for the 2024 season are; Florida and Tennessee, Alabama and Tennessee, the Egg Bowl, Auburn and Georgia, Arkansas and LSU, Kentucky and Tennessee, and Florida and Georgia.

Making a much-awaited return to the college football schedule, we will see the Texas Longhorns traveling to College Station, Texas, to take on the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field.

Texas will host the likeness of Kentucky, Mississippi State, Georgia, and Florida. Meanwhile, the Longhorns will travel to Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and have a neutral site game with the Oklahoma Sooners in Dallas, Texas.

On the Oklahoma side of the merger, the Sooners will welcome Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina to Norman in their inaugural 2024 Southeastern Conference season. The Sooners will then travel to take on Auburn, LSU, Missouri, and Ole Miss.

Elsewhere around the conference of notation, we will see Georgia traveling to Bryant Denny Stadium to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in what could be the regular season game of a lifetime. Also, Georgia and Florida will remain in Jacksonville during the 2024 season, while Alabama travels to Neyland Stadium to take on the Volunteers. Southeastern Conference fans will also have the Iron Bowl, the Egg Bowl, and Auburn and Georgia to look forward to in 2024.

Overall, the Southeastern Conference did a remarkable job scheduling the 2024 season, keeping traditional games in place while embracing the newcomers in Texas and Oklahoma. Dates for the matchups will be announced at a later time, but the Southeastern Conference has a lot to be excited about as Texas and Oklahoma join the conference in 2024.
