On a warm and muggy Sunday in Memphis, Tennessee, the Final Round of the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship would provide golf fans with all the thrilling moments expected from the first round of the FedEx Cup. Golfers would have a bit of a monkey wrench thrown in the shuffle on Sunday when a heavy rain would sneak in, causing about an hour-and-a-half delay for the golfers to sit and ponder while passing the time in the clubhouse at TPC Southwind. The rain delay created muggy conditions across TPC Southwind, giving way to wardrobe changes to combat the humid conditions at TPC Southwind.

Coming into Sunday’s Final Round of the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship, patrons of the Tournament were in for a treat with an unbelievable leaderboard with several guys in contention to win the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

In years past, the back nine at TPC Southwind decided the championship, as guys would have to attack with a vengeance on holes that left nightmares for years to come.

As expected, the back nine at TPC Southwind would sneak its pesky head as drama filled the fairways of the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship. As the 2023 Wyndham Championship winner, Lucas Glover approached the tee box on the Par Three 14th hole; Glover sliced his tee shot on the right side straight into the water. Glover would bogey the 14th hole, dropping a stroke and leaving the door open for Patrick Cantlay to tie the lead at 15 under Par.

As golfers approached the final holes of the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship, the pressure mounted for Lucas Glover and Patrick Cantlay as Tommy Fleetwood nipped at their heels just one stroke back from the two. Needing a birdie on the 18th, Fleetwood would narrowly miss a putt that would have sent him to tie Glover and Cantlay. Tommy Fleetwood finished his 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship tied for third with Rory McIlroy.

With a Championship on the line, Lucas Glover hit a nice tee shot off the 18th to give him a chance to win the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in regulation without the help of a Playoff hole. However, a twenty-foot putt for Lucas Glover would provide too much, as he made Par sending the 2023 FedEx. St. Jude Championship to a Playoff.

Patrick Cantlay and Lucas Glover would start the Playoff by playing the 18th again. Cantlay would hit his tee shot in the water on the 18th, while Glover hit a missile to the middle of the fairway, adding pressure on Patrick Cantlay to manage the situation. Following the tee shot in the water, Cantlay faced a drop leaving him 154 yards from the hole, sitting on his third shot. Glover hit a beautiful second shot to the back half of the green, giving him a makable putt to win the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Missing the birdie putt, Glover would salvage a Par putt to win the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
