On a beautiful Southeastern Conference Saturday afternoon at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Ole Miss Rebels traveled into the belly of the beast to take the Alabama Crimson Tide. As the hype train went full steam ahead for the annual Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban battle, the action on the field delivered an exciting matchup between the two foes. Ole Miss and Alabama delivered blow after blow in the first half, giving way to one of the best second halves in recent memory.
In the first half, Alabama scored first with a field goal to make it 3-0 Crimson Tide. However, the Alabama lead would be short-lived as the Rebels would tack a touchdown on the board to make it 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Alabama would tack another field goal on the board to go into the locker room down 7-6 to the Rebels of Ole Miss.
Alabama opened the second half on a war path as they held the Rebels to three points. Alabama scored 11 points in the third quarter, making it 17-10 in favor of the Crimson Tide heading into the final quarter of play.
Second-half adjustments were the difference maker, as Alabama dominated Ole Miss in the second half. Jalen Milroe led the Alabama offense to perfection in the second half. Completing a few long passes and picking apart the Rebel defense, Milroe made the Crimson Tide look like the Crimson Tide of old in the second half on Saturday. Jalen Milroe put the Southeastern Conference on notice with his performance on Saturday as he showcased his potential as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide.
Coach Saban had this to say about Jalen Milroe, in his postgame interview with CBS, had this to say about his quarterback, ” He had a good game, he executed well and put us in the best position to win today.”

For Ole Miss, not much went right for the Rebels on Saturday as Head Coach Lane Kiffin failed to beat his mentor. When Alabama made adjustments at the break, Ole Miss stuck to their guns, ending in defeat. Ole Miss will return home next Saturday to Vaught Hemingway Stadium to take on the LSU Tigers.
Alabama will hit the road next weekend as they travel to Davis Wade Stadium to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a late-night SEC West matchup.
