After a two-week search, Mississippi State Football has its next Head Coach as the Bulldogs hire Oklahoma Offensive Coordinator Jeff Lebby to become the next Head Coach of the Bulldogs. Lebby comes to Starkville highly sought after for being one of the brightest offensive-minded coaches in college football. Lebby frequently led the Sooners in scoring large numbers in points and lighting up the stat sheet in about every category known to man. Lebby has stops at UCF, where he ran the offense under now-Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel, and at Ole Miss under Head Coach Lane Kiffin. Lebby is a graduate of Oklahoma, where he was a highly recruited offensive lineman product before ending his playing career early due to injury.
Coach Lebby has only been an Offensive Coordinator in his short career but has plenty of experience with Head coaches like Josh Heupel, Lane Kiffin, and Brent Venables to gain experience in the realities of coaching at the highest levels of college football. Coach Lebby has experience in the Egg Bowl, recruiting in the Southeastern Conference and even Mississippi.

Being an offensive-minded coach, Lebby will need to make a splash on the Defensive Coordinator hire to keep the Mississippi State defensive momentum going into the future of Bulldogs Football. At this point in the search, nobody has come away as a favorite to land the defensive coordinator position, but Coach Lebby will need to make a homerun hire for the Bulldogs defensive unit.
As far as an Offensive Coordinator, Lebby has plenty of options to bring a balanced Air-Raid option back to Starkville, Mississippi, giving Mississippi State an exciting brand of offense. Mississippi State fans like a football team that lights up the scoreboard and puts video game numbers on the stat sheet; Lebby provides that for the Bulldogs.
Lebby will fly to Starkville on Sunday night with his introductory press conference on Monday afternoon.
