On the last Saturday of 2023, Head Coach Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels took the party to Atlanta, where the Rebels dominated Penn State out of the Big Ten. In front of what seemed like the entire state of Mississippi, Ole Miss rallied with a common goal of embarrassing another team from up north, showing the only football of relevance comes from the Southeastern Conference. From the opening kick to the final whistle, Penn State didn’t stand a chance against the overpowering Ole Miss Rebels.

As the final seconds ticked away, echos of SEC and the Hotty Toddy touched every corner of the Mercedez Benz Stadium, and Ole Miss became the 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Champions. In the mayhem to follow, it felt as if Ole Miss had reached a milestone moment that would be a stepping stone for a future filled with National Championships and celebrations for the Ole Miss Football program. Coach Lane Kiffin mentioned it twice in the postgame celebrations, ” We’re just getting started; this is only the beginning for Ole Miss Football.” Ending the season with a massive win over a top-ten team, Ole Miss will likely open the preseason polls as a top-five team heading into the 2024 season.
So, how’s Ole Miss win the Peach Bowl on Saturday?
We’ll start on the defensive side of the ball. Jared Ivey and a swarm of Landsharks dominated Penn State. All game, Ole Miss caused havoc for the Penn State offensive unit. Ole Miss used playing in the Southeastern Conference, where each game is a battle, to overpower an offensive unit that created issues for teams in the Big Ten. Ivey finished the day with five tackles and a fumble recovery in his efforts to lead Ole Miss to a 38-25 win over Penn State. Trey Washington led the Rebels with eight tackles on Saturday and was a menace to the Penn State offense.

On the offensive side of the ball, Ole Miss imposed their will on Penn State, scorching the number one-ranked defense in the country for 38 points on 540 yards. Jaxson Dart finished the day with three passing touchdowns on 379 yards through the air. Quinshon Judkins finished the day with 106 yards on the ground. Jaxson Dart turned to two of his veteran wideouts, Caden Prieskorn and Tre Harris, to carry the load for the talented receiver group that Ole Miss has. Tre Harris finished the day with 134 yards and zero touchdowns. Caden Prieskorn had two touchdowns on 136 yards.
Overall, Ole Miss was too much for Penn State. Too much speed, too much talent, too much coaching, and the Ole Miss Rebels are coming to the Sip with a Peach Bowl Championship and a boatload of expectations for the 2024 season. Like many of their Southeastern Conference counterparts, Ole Miss proved yet again the Southeastern Conference runs college football. Down here, it does indeed ” Just Mean More.”
