Down on the Bayou, Ole Miss would walk into the Tiger Den of LSU for a Wednesday night rivalry showdown with the Tigers. As efforts seemed to stall for Coach Chris Beard and his Ole Miss Rebels, the LSU lead extended to double digits, creating a mountain too steep for the Rebels to overcome on the road.

Coach Chris Beard would call a timeout late in the second half to rally his Rebels to cut into the LSU lead by cutting it to single digits with mere minutes remaining. With 17.8 seconds left, Jaylen Murray drilled back-to-back three-point shots to cut the LSU lead to 5 with seconds remaining. Ole Miss would foul the Tigers, forcing LSU to win the game at the charity stripe. Hunter Dean would seal the deal for the hometown LSU Tigers with two massive free throws to make it 87-80 with five tickets of the clock remaining. Jordan Wright would then step up to the line to finish off his incredible night for the Tigers with two free throws to give him 27 points and an LSU 89-80 win over Ole Miss on Wednesday night.
Jaylen Murray finished the night for Ole Miss, leading the Rebels in scoring with 23 points.
Ole Miss will remain on the road on Saturday as they travel to the Plains to take on the Auburn Tigers in the nightcap on the SEC Network.
