Super Bulldog weekend witnessed a remarkable comeback by the resilient Mississippi State Bulldogs. Bouncing back from their previous loss in Oxford, they left the painful memory of the Ole Miss defeat behind on Sunday night. Their focus shifted to Auburn, and they were ready to give their all in the upcoming games, showcasing their unwavering determination.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs made a powerful start on Friday night, roaring to an 8-1 victory over Auburn and setting the tone for the weekend. The star of the night was starting pitcher Khal Stephen, who dominated the Auburn lineup with an impressive 11 strikeouts and only allowed one run on six hits. Khal’s performance was a thrilling display of skill and control, continuing for seven innings before Tyler Davis stepped in to seal the deal with four strikeouts on two hits.
Saturday was a wash, as Mother Nature won the day with rain. Mississippi State and Auburn had an extra day of rest before a doubleheader on Sunday.

As Sunday rolled around, the cloud gave way to a brisk but beautiful day with minimal cloud cover, giving Dudy Noble the postcard day for the perfect afternoon of baseball.
Needing one win to secure the series over Auburn, Mississippi State went scoreless through three innings before two runs crossed in the bottom half of the 4th, giving Mississippi State a 2-0 lead over the Tigers. Auburn would have an answer with Kaleb Freeman hammering a solo shot to cut into the Mississippi State by a margin of 2-1. However, as the smoke bellowed from beyond the Left Field fence, Mississippi State would add another run in the bottom half of the 6th inning, giving Mississippi State a needed insurance run to secure the series win over Auburn.
Jurrangelo Cijntje went six innings, combining for five strikeouts and giving up three hits while holding Auburn to one run.
Mississippi State will head to the Volunteer State this week. It will start with a midweek matchup in Memphis against the Tigers before traveling East on I-40 for a three-game set with the Vanderbilt Commodores at Hawkins Field on the West End of Nashville, Tennessee.
