Mississippi State heads south to take on #5 Georgia on Saturday afternoon

Mississippi State had a bye week to prepare for the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday as they hit the road, again looking for the first SEC win of the Jeff Lebby era. A win over Georgia is not impossible, but the Bulldogs will have to go into the teeth of the monster to take on a hungry Georgia Bulldog team looking to return to the College Football Playoff after last season ended in disappointment for Kirby Smart as they settled for an Orange Bowl blowout victory over Florida State.

Georgia took one on the chin two weeks while in Tuscoolsa at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide. The loss to Alabama made every game matter for the Bulldogs even more. Georiga has no room for error as they try to avoid a potential trap game on Saturday against visitors from Starkville, Mississippi.

The past two weeks of Southeastern Conference Football have been a testament to the sport’s unpredictability. Any team with the right mindset and a strong quarterback can emerge victorious. Vanderbilt and Kentucky have proven this, and now, Mississippi State stands on the brink of scripting a historic win at Sanford Stadium, adding another thrilling chapter to the 2024 Southeastern Conference Football season.

In their last game against Texas on the 28th, Mississippi State showed vast improvement, showing the will to keep fighting despite being down on the scoreboard.

Mississippi State’s path to victory against Georgia is clear-they must execute a flawless game plan. Georgia, a formidable contender for the national title, is not invincible, as their recent loss to Alabama demonstrated. This game presents a golden opportunity for Mississippi State to showcase its resilience and determination.

For Mississippi State, focus on what you can control and let the gameplay as it will. In college football, everyone has a chance; the vibes around the program are one that Coach Lebby has his Mississippi State Bulldogs prepared and believing in the overall well-being of the Bulldogs Football program. Nobody in the world thought Vanderbilt could pull an upset over Alabama. Still, the Commodores stunned the Crimson Tide and paved the way for Mississippi State and others to continue the madness of the 2024 Southeastern Conference Football season.

Mississippi State and Georiga will begin on Saturday afternoon at 4:15 Eastern on the SEC Network.
