Since taking over as Head Coach at Ole Miss, Coach Kiffin has yet to deliver the big Southeastern Conference win to Rebel Nation. However, something about the Georgia game felt different for the Rebels. Honestly, something has felt different about the state of the program since losing to LSU a few weeks ago in Death Valley. Last week, it was a dismantling of Arkansas, and this week, it was an old-fashioned beating of the number three team in the country, the Georiga Bulldogs. With two losses, Ole Miss faced backs against the wall for the rest of the season, needing to win out to reach the College Football Playoff and maybe just maybe, with a lot of chaos, a spot in the 2024 SEC Championship game on December 7th.
Ole Miss came into the Georgia game with something to prove, as they wanted to showcase the potential for championship-winning football that the 2024 Ole Miss Rebels have this season. All season, it was Georgia this and Georgia that; not a soul believed Coach Kiffin had it in him to finish the job and deliver one of the biggest wins in the program’s history.

Georgia came out swinging on Ole Miss, scoring the first touchdown of the game after forcing Jaxson Dart to throw a pick that led to the Bulldogs 7-0 lead over the Rebels. However, Ole Miss fought like hell and came out with haymakers that shifted to knockout blows of the Georiga Bulldogs on Saturday night at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
Georgia had no answer for the mighty Ole Miss Rebels; Coach Kiffin coached circles around Kirby Smart on Saturday night while exposing Carson Beck for the remaining Georgia teams this season. On both sides of the ball tonight, Ole Miss was the better team, showcasing what many around Oxford knew of the team to the rest of the country.
Coming into Saturday’s game, there was a lot of talk and comparison about Jaxson Dart for Ole Miss and Carson Beck from Georgia. After watching the two on the same field on Saturday, Jaxson Dart is leaps and bounds a better quarterback. Dart finished the night with 199 yards through the air, 50 on the ground, and one touchdown.
Saturday night will be a night that Ole Miss fans and Coach Kiffin will remember for years to come. With all the effort poured into turning Ole Miss into a contender, the Rebels shattered the glass ceiling. They gave the Rebel Nation a magical night that signified taking that next level step to deliver on promises made years ago.
Ole Miss returns to action on the 23rd with a road trip to Gainesville, where they will face the Florida Gators before the Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
