Fresh off a massive road win over Ole Miss on Saturday, the 21st-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs welcomed the 7th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies to the Hump for another highly anticipated Tuesday night of Southeastern Conference Basketball.
Similar styles would take the court when Texas A&M and Mississippi State met on Tuesday night at the Hump. Two of the most physically demanding teams meeting on the same hardwood for the only time this season is a recipe for another Southeastern Conference instant classic.
Mississippi State and Texas State traded blows in the first half in what felt like two prized boxers feeling each other out early in the round. The visitors from College Station took a 31-30 Aggies lead to the locker room.

Mississippi State opened the second half with a vengeance, racing to a 38-34 lead over the Texas A&M Aggies at the under-16 media timeout. At the under-12 media timeout, Mississippi State had maintained the lead over the Aggies, extending it to 44-34. At the under-8 media timeout, the lead thinned out a bit as the Aggies cut it to 46-42 with 7:49 remaining. At the media timeout of the game, Mississippi State extended the lead to 58-47.
Josh Hubbard once again led the Bulldogs in scoring with 25 points.

Needing a signature conference win, Coach Jans and the Mississippi State Bulldogs responded the only way they knew how to do; they handled business on Tuesday night, giving the program a needed shot in the arm to finish out the Southeastern Conference slate with some momentum as they turn the final lap to the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Nashville. Like last season, the Bulldogs will likely enter the Southeastern Conference Tournament overlooked and almost forgotten about despite having the track record of monster wins over Final Four contending teams in Texas A&M and Memphis.
