With a spot in the Southeastern Conference semi-finals on the line, Ole Miss and Arkansas met for a highly anticipated quarterfinal matchup. It is a rematch of two months ago, where the Razorbacks came into Swayze Field and took out of three after Ole Miss took the first game on a Friday night.
Ole Miss came into the game needing to win another game. After the Florida win on Wednesday, a few publications said the Rebels needed another win or two in Hoover to cross the threshold of hosting an Oxford Regional next weekend at Swayze Field.
With hosting implications, Ole Miss started Riley Maddox on Friday against the Razorbacks. Riley Maddox pitched 5.2 innings of solid pitching, giving up two runs and three hits with seven strikeouts. Will McCausland came in to get one out in the 5th inning, then gave Ole Miss 0.2 innings before giving the mound to Mason Morris at the bottom of the 7th inning, with runners on second and third with one out. Morris delivered in a way that gets the job done for Coach Bianco; he finished his day after 1.2 innings with no hits or runs and two strikeouts.

Ole Miss would strike first in the top half of the first inning with a five-inning capped off by a three-run shot from Austin Fawley to make it 5-0 in favor of the Rebels. Arkansas would add one at the bottom of the first and another at the bottom of the second inning to cut the Ole Miss lead to 5-2.
Who knows if Ole Miss will have the chance to host an Oxford Regional, but the Rebels have done everything the publication asks of them. Then, while in Hoover, it will come down to what metrics the selection committee uses when the top 16 regional sites get revealed on Sunday night.
With the win over Arkansas, the Rebels will advance to play the winner of LSU and Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon with a spot in the SEC Tournament Championship game on the line. A win over either Texas A&M or LSU and the Rebels would be playing the winner of Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
