As the final seconds ticked off the clock on another Ole Miss football victory on Saturday night in Norman, Oklahoma, the realization of the Rebels now having a wide-open path to the College Football Playoff started to sink in as Rebels Nation started another Saturday night of celebration. For many years, the feeling of being so close but not getting the job done started to take hold of the celebration. However, for many, that moment in time was all that mattered, as they realized how special a win over a historic program like the Sooners could be in taking a season to the next level.
Often, when a program goes on a run like the Rebels are on, the fans get lost in the hoopla without truly taking a step back to enjoy the moment. For a program that has had some success in recent memory in the New Year Six Bowls, when those were a thing, enjoying the last four games of the regular season without wishing them away for the postseason is important. These moments don’t come around often, especially for a program like Ole Miss. What will happen in the postseason with this team, and in the offseason with Coach Kiffin, will happen; there are only four more guaranteed chances for all of Rebel Nation to come together and enjoy the 2025 Ole Miss football team. Why not enjoy every snap like it’s the last, because when this thing is all over, you’re going to look back and kick yourself for not living in the moment.

For the Rebels, there are three homes left, then an in-state road game in Starkville; there’s no excuse not to pack out Vaught Hemingway Stadium for the remaining guaranteed twelve quarters of football inside that stadium on the season, that’s it. Why not for those twelve quarters turn Vaught Hemingway Stadium into a place that South Carolina, The Citadel, and Florida don’t get out alive with, as you set the scene for a wild Egg Bowl on Black Friday against a Mississippi State looking to play spoiler on the season. It starts with the fans; fan support for those twelve quarters is what jumpstarts this month-long race to the College Football Playoff finish line, a finish line that has been the center of every conversation since Coach Kiffin took over as Head Coach at Ole Miss.
As far as the matchups go, there’s really no reason Ole Miss shouldn’t win out. It all starts on Saturday night as they welcome the Gamecocks of South Carolina to Vaught Hemingway Stadium. A South Carolina team with enough talent to knock off Ole Miss, but comes into the game with Ole Miss struggling with finding a true identity after starting Southeastern Conference play with a bleak 1-5 conference record, and three and five overall. Everyone had been waiting for South Carolina to wake up in October, but that arrival never materialized, and now they limp into the Ole Miss game looking to salvage the season with an upset win over the Rebels. For the Rebels, Coach Kiffin took the 2024 Ole Miss team into Williams-Brice Stadium last season and left with a 27-3 butt kicking of the Gamecocks.
