Oxford, Mississippi:
The Lane Train is full steam ahead in Oxford as the Rebels get ready to take on the visiting South Carolina Gamecocks under the lights at Vaught Hemingway Stadium. Saturday’s matchup between the Rebels and Gamecocks will be the 17th meeting between the two programs dating back to 1947, with it being the 8th time since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1992, the all-time series record is all tied up at eight games apiece.

Saturday is a must-win game for both programs and different reasons at that.
For Ole Miss, a win would keep the Rebels in contention for a postseason bowl trip. A bowl trip in year one under Lane Kiffin would be an incredible milestone to build off going into the future of Rebels football.
For South Carolina, the Gamecocks come into the matchup with Ole Miss, desperately looking for a win. A win for the Gamecocks would also help Head Coach Will Muschamp by himself just a bit more time to prove his worth as a Head Coach to the entire South Carolina faithful.
The Ole Miss defense will have their hands full trying to stop the impressive South Carolina rushing attack and, here’s what Lane Kiffin had to say about that.
” Colorado State kid (Hill) played really well at times then, struggled here as of late,” Kiffin said. “These guys can run the ball really well. I remember watching the other side of the ball against them when we were getting ready for Vanderbilt. They did a great job of running the ball that day. Anytime a team can run the ball well, especially when we haven’t been good at stopping it, we’re going to need to do that regardless of who is handing it off.”
Coach Kiffin also had this say about the matchup with South Carolina.
“This is a team with really good players that has played good at times and sure isn’t happy about last week,” Kiffin said. “So, they’re going to come in here on fire.”
Ole Miss and South Carolina will get underway at 6:30 on Saturday night on the SEC Network. The game will be coming to you live from Vaught Hemingway Stadium on the beautiful campus of Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.
