Things in Athens, Georgia, have gotten interesting to say the least with the number one ranked Georgia Bulldogs running through the entire SEC slate-like it’s a dozen cupcakes. As expected, College Football folks have started the talk about Georgia being unbeatable, which is common for programs that look as good as the Bulldogs do. At this current time in the College Football season, the Bulldogs, on paper, is by far the best team in the country. But, the question remains, can anybody beat Georgia, or will Kirby Smart and his team run the tables and bring the National Championship home to Athens for the first time since 1980.

Honestly, Georgia has the best defense in College Football, and it’s not even that close. When you study film, the defensive unit that Head Coach Kirby Smart has built-in Athens is something that only nightmares are made of in terms give the entire Southeastern Conference hard times trying to scheme for the team. Growing up around the game of College Football, you would often hear the old-timers say that defense wins championships. Well, that could not be more true this season if the Bulldogs complete gauntlet and go on to win a National Championship.

If you simply take away the Kentucky game, the Georgia Bulldogs defense is only allowing 4.3 points per game, which is leaps and bounds better than any other College Football team in the country.
Not to mention, when you compare the roster of this year’s Georgia Bulldogs to any other program in College Football, there’s truly no competition that can be made because the Bulldogs are just that deep at every position. I mean, when you have a backup quarterback in Stenton Bennet stepping up to lead this team on the offensive side of the ball without missing a beat from where JT Daniels left off.

It’s been six years in the making, but Georgia fans finally have the best team in College Football. All the Bulldogs have got to do is continue playing that brand of football that has gotten them to this point, and the rest will take care of itself. Personally, it’s good for College Football as a whole to have Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs the frontrunners to the College Football National Championship. Out of all the elite programs, there is none more deserving of the spotlight than the Georgia Bulldogs and their fans. It’s been a long 40 years of almost and wait until next year. If the Georgia Bulldogs can pull this off, it will go down in the history of College Football as one of the greatest success stories in the history of the sport.

Georgia will return to action on Saturday following the bye week for a matchup in the World’s Largest Cocktail Party with the Florida Gators. Georgia enters the matchup with Florida as double-digit favorites and is likely to send another statement to Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators.
