For 46 years, Coach Krzyzewski has roamed the sidelines of Basketball courts around the world. No matter where you find yourself enjoying the game of college basketball, you will eventually run into somebody that isn’t even a Duke fan talking about Coach K and the legacy he has left on the game of Basketball.
Whether you love him or hate him, that’s beside the point. At the end of the season, Coach K will walk off the court for the last time, and with that will be the end of an era, an era so rich in history that folks like myself will talk about for years to come.

Coach Krzyzewski has seen his teams win five National Championship and have posted an impressed over record 1170-361, which, when you do the math, is a winning percentage of .764. Not many coaches can say they won over one thousand games and have reached the Final Four twelve separate times. Not to mention, Coach led teams have won a crazy amount of Conference Tournaments, fifteen to be exact.
On top of that, Coach Krzyzewski has produced 57 NBA Draft picks, 34 of which were first-round draft picks. Coach K likes to call that process the Duke Brotherhood. Other than Kentucky and Coach Calipari, Duke has the most NBA Draft Picks under Coach K.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, how can somebody pay homage to a Coach that has lived rent-free in a lot of College Basketball fans’ minds for years. That answer is simple, Coach K is one of those coaches that you love to hate if he’s playing your team, but at the end of the day, Coach K is one of those guys that has earned the respect of all of us.

When it’s all said and done for Coach K at the end of this season, I don’t think words will be able to describe the impact that has had on the game of Basketball that we all know and love.
From coaching Team USA to a crazy 88-1 overall record, and 24-0 in the Olympics. During that time as Head Coach of Team USA, he led this country to three gold medals and two World Cup golds. It’s something that will never be touched for as long as Basketball is around.

Overall, Coach K will go down as one of the most respected and honored Hall of Fame coaches to ever coach the game of Basketball. Sure, we all loved to beat him and his teams, but once that final buzzer sounds on the historic career of Coach K, a lot of us College Basketball folks will miss seeing him roam the sidelines and plague the nightmares of generations of Basketball fans.
At the end of the day, as a whole, we stand together and thank Coach K for all he did to forever change the game of Basketball. There will never be another Coach K, so folks, enjoy this season for what’s it’s worth because on that final day that he walks off the court, it will truly be an end to an era of Basketball that will forever be etched in the hearts of billions around the globe.
