For the first time in school history, Ole Miss Baseball has won the National Championship

For the first time in school history, the College Baseball National Championship trophy is heading home to Oxford, Mississippi. A team of destiny, the Ole Miss Rebels and their Head Coach Mike Bianco have done the unthinkable and claimed the National Championship for both Ole Miss and the second straight year, the state of Mississippi.

Left for dead back in early May, Head Coach Mike Bianco and his Rebels have shocked the world as they held lady luck by the hand. In the end, it was destiny that the Ole Miss Rebels were to be National Champions at last.

What’s so crazy about the whole journey is this is a College Baseball who was on the verge of not making the NCAA Tournament. People around the sport never gave this Ole Miss team a chance. Yet, here they are, the 2022 Ole Miss Rebels are National Champions.

Honestly, you might hate the school itself, but there’s not a more deserving group of guys than the 2022 Ole Miss Rebels. You had the redemption tour of Tim Elko, you had Mike Bianco battling for his job, and you had the other guys surrounding them fighting like hell to secure Ole Miss a National Championship. Before the Tournament even started, Tim Elko said, ” If Ole Miss made the NCAA Tournament, they would win the National Championship.” He was right.

To add to that, the coaching job that Head Coach Mike Bianco had during this National Championship run was nothing short of amazing. The way Coach Bianco managed his team during this Championship run was something only seen in the movies. Not only did he outcoach every coach he faced, but Mike Bianco got his boys to believe in something larger than the team itself.

As far as Sunday’s game goes, Ole Miss jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 6th behind a Jacob Gonzalez solo shot. From there, the Sooners added two in the 7th to take a 2-1 lead. However, it was all Ole Miss in the bottom half of the 8th inning, scoring two runs before eventually finishing off the Sooners 4-2 to win the 2022 National Championship.
