Splitting the first two games of the series, Kentucky and Florida met on Saturday afternoon in front of sold-out Kentucky Proud Park on the campus of the University Of Kentucky. Kentucky and Flordia would remain deadlocked at zero until the later half of the game. Neither the Gators nor Wildcats wanted to give an inch to the other as so much was on the line for both programs.
Game three between the Wildcats and Gators had plenty on the line. Flordia was playing for an outright SEC regular season championship. Kentucky had sights set on seeding for the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover.

Florida opened the top half of the 7th inning by breaking the scoring dam, stringing together a four-run inning to make it 4-0 Florida. Jac Caglianone would score from third off a sacrifice fly ball from the bat of BT Riopelle. Luke Heyman would knock a base hit scoring Tyler Shelnut, making it 2-0 Gators. Dale Thomas would step up to the plate slamming a deep two-run home run to end the inning at 4-0 Gators. Luke Heyman would send a solo moonshot to centerfield to give Florida an insurance 5th run in the top half of the 9th inning.
Kentucky opened the 8th inning with a solo shot to the right field pole from Grant Smith to cut into the Florida lead by a run. The solo shot from Grant Smith would be the only run Kentucky could earn in the 8th.

Florida had Jac Caglianone pitching an absolute clinic performance for seven innings on Saturday afternoon at Kentucky Proud Park. Caglianone struck out eight Kentucky batters giving up only four hits. Frankly, Jac Caglianone was unhittable on Saturday.
Kentucky Baseball had everything to play for on Saturday as they were trying to secure an NCAA Tournament top-eight seed, but the Gators were too much for the Wildcats. Given their resume, Kentucky will likely host an NCAA Tournament Regional at Kentucky Proud Park, but the Cats have some work to do in Hoover to feel secure about hosting.
Kentucky and Florida will now head down to Hoover, Alabama, for the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament. With the win over Kentucky, Florida will have a bye in the SEC Tournament and will not play until Wednesday. Kentucky will likely be playing on Tuesday morning of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament as the 6th seed, where they play the 11-seeded team. With a few games remaining today, the first two matchups for the Gators and Wildcats in the SEC Tournament have yet to be determined. Kentucky will play one of the two between Georgia and Missouri.
