It seems like yesterday that we were watching Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies take on the entire world down in the NBA Bubble in Orlando, and now we’re just a few weeks away from a new season! A new season calls for higher expectations for the Memphis Grizzlies this season.
Last season, the Grizzlies finished with a playoff bid in the bubble where the Grizzlies season was ended at the hands of the Portland Trailblazers.

This season will be business as usual for Ja Morant and the M Memphis Grizzlies after many talking heads have predicted that the Grizzlies won’t make the playoffs. Which at this rate is no surprise. The Memphis Grizzlies have always been the black sheep of NBA, taking of the establishment one season at a time. This franchise puts on for their city. It might not be the grit and grind style of old, but like the 901, the Grizzlies tell the doubters to mess off and, they go out and prove them wrong.
They have always done it the Memphis way. As this team begins a new journey of a new season, the fans need to expect the unexpected and continue to ignore the crap that the national media likes to say about this franchise.
The front office has built this franchise for the future, a bright future at that. This team doesn’t need a superstar. They don’t need the hype. They also don’t need the NBA to baby them every step of the way like they do with some of the others in the league.
This team was built to compete at the highest of levels in the NBA.
This season could be the breaking point for this franchise to finally take the plunge and force their way onto the big stage. If it were up to Ja Morant and the others on the team, the Grizzlies would be picked dead last in every preseason poll.
Lastly, it might not be easy but expect Ja Morant and this team to be the talking point of the NBA during this 2020-2021 season.
The Grizzlies will get the preseason slate underway next Saturday against the Timberwolves.
