On a beautiful spring morning in Oxford, Mississippi, Ole Miss welcomed busloads of kids for their midweek matchup against the Little Rock Trojans. Little Rock came into Swayze Field with a chip on their shoulder as they wanted to earn a statement win over Head Coach Mike Bianco and the Ole Miss Rebels. Despite jumping ahead early on the Rebels, Little Rock was unable to get the job done on Tuesday morning as the Rebels escaped with a 12-10 win over the Trojans.
Little Rock jumped out ahead of the Ole Miss Rebels early in the 1st inning with a 2-1 lead. Ole Miss would tie the game in the bottom half of the third inning. Both Little Rock and Ole Miss had massive fourth innings stretches, with the Trojans clinging to a 7-6 lead over the Rebels heading to the back half of the game on Tuesday. Little Rock would have three more in the top half of the 6th inning to make it 10-6 Trojans heading to the bottom of the 6th inning. Ole Miss would cut into the Little Rock lead in combined three runs throughout the bottom half of the 6th and 7th innings.

Ole Miss would explode in the bottom of the 8th inning to regain the lead over Little Rock. Jacob Gonzalez would start the scoring barrage off; for the Rebels in the 8th with a base hit up the middle scoring, Reagan Burford to tie the game at 10. Jacob Gonzalez would score from third following a base hit from Ethan Lege that would give Gonzalez the go-ahead after a wild throw from the Little Rock defensive unit, making it 11-10 Rebels. Calvin Harris would rip a base hit to right field, scoring Ethan Lege to make it 12-10 Rebels.
Ole Miss would bury Little Rock by holding the Trojans to three outs on three appearances in the 9th.
A 12-10 win over Little Rock might not be all that impressive for Ole Miss, but in no universe could the Rebels afford to have lost that game on Tuesday. Ole Miss has a slim chance at making the postseason, a loss on Tuesday to Little Rock; the season would be all but over for Head Coach Mike Bianco and his Ole Miss Rebels.
Ole Miss will return to action on Thursday night as they travel to Columbia, Missouri, to take on the Missouri Tigers.
